I am a French tutor in Paris, I always tell my students : the key to improve your French is to make it part of your everyday life.

Soooo, here are my tips to help you progress every single day, whether you live in Paris or just visiting.

1. Embrace Everyday Conversations

Paris is a bustling city, every day you can have some opportunities to engage in real-life conversations with friends, waiters... Whether you want to order your morning coffee or talk with shop owners or asking for directions, don’t hesitate to practice speaking French.

These short interactions will build confidence and will help you get comfortable with common phrases.

The more you speak, the more natural it will feel!

2. Explore Local Markets

Paris is known for its outdoor markets, and these are fantastic places to practice your French! Talk with the vendors, ask about the products, and try to use the vocabulary related to food, cooking, and local culture.

Not only will you improve your French, but you’ll also get a deeper understanding of the Parisian way of life.

3. Join my café des langues

I know there are a lot of language exchange events in Paris where french and expats gather to practice different languages.

As a French tutor in Paris, I highly recommend to come to my " café des langues " it's once a month in a café, It's fun, friendly and pressure-free way to improve.

4. Use French Media Daily

To immerse yourself further, incorporate French media into your routine. You have to watch French TV shows, listen to podcasts, and read the news in French newspapers.

5. Set Small, Achievable Goals

Learning a language is a journey so it’s important to set your goals.

Focus on mastering one new phrase or expression per day, and use it in conversation. This can make the process feel less overwhelming and much more rewarding. Remember, consistency is key!
